First of all, what is the usage of MeTHPA (MTHPA)? It is used in curing agent for epoxy resin, solvent-free paints, laminates, epoxy adhesives, etc. It is used in epoxy resin curing agent and has long-term storage at room temperature, low freezing point, low volatility and low toxicity. Widely used in motors, dry-type transformers, high-voltage switches, transformers, line output transformers, home appliance capacitors, power capacitor resistors, integrated circuit impregnation, casting and winding.

After talking about the usages, it is also necessary to talk about its basic performance, methyltetrahydrophthalic anhydride, also known as MeTHPA, referred to as MTHPA, there are two isomers, namely 4-methyl tetrahydrophthalic anhydride and 3-methyl tetrahydrophthalic anhydride,  melting points of 65 ° C and 63 ° C, respectively, and are rarely used alone as curing agents. The actual commodity is a liquid mixture that isomerized to various isomers. The molecular weight is 166.17. Light yellow transparent oily liquid with a relative density of 1.20 to 1.22. Freezing point < one 20 ° C. The boiling point is 115~155 °C. Viscosity (25 ° C) 40 ~ 80 mPa · s. The refractive index is 1.4960 to 1.4980. The anhydride group content is ≥ 40%. The neutralization equivalent is 81-85. The flash point is 137 ~ 150 °C. Soluble in acetone, ethanol, toluene, etc. It has good stability in air. It is difficult to precipitate crystals and is low in toxicity.
